The following is a list of the optical media given to attendees
of the Chicato TI User's Group Faires:
The 2006 CD featured much MATHEMATICAL IMAGERY, computer
constructions of various formulae. Links to many websites. Jos Leys
"Math Imagry" site is highly recommended. It also included PC
versions of the game of "Life", a new version which was written for
the TI in 2006.
The 2007 CD featured URBAN DESOLATION captured by photo historians,
who believe that not all history is in history books, and when these
structures are demolished, a page of history of the people who
worked and lived in them is lost.
It also had "GENETIC MUSIC", notes coded from genetic sequences.
Some musicianship was required to make it sound good.
The 2008 CD is about the SENSE OF WONDER AND IMAGINATION,
featuring magazine and bookcovers of science fiction and popular
"science" magazines from the 30's and 40's, some of which are more
"science fiction" looking than the sci-fi ones themselves!
The 2009 disk is a DVD, because of the size of the video files on it:
01 DIMENSIONS MATH SERIES
3-dimension math imagery videos,in .mov "quicktime" format.
Finally, the fourth dimension and, the square root of negative 1
explained. Home page included. You can download same videos in
languages other than American English.
02 UNIVAC COMMERCIALS, in .mp4 format.
When Univac was king.
03 "SITA SINGS THE BLUES", in .avi format. The world's greatest
breakup story. "Betty Boop" for the new millenium. How about
a T.I. arcade game based on "the battle of Lanka" sequence?
04 "EDISON'S 1910 FRANKENSTEIN", In .mp4 format, 99 years old.
(get it, 99?) Lost for 60 years. Yeah, we can laugh, but it
must have really terrified folks in 1910.
05 SUPER NUMBERS SERIES:
The first 100,000 Prime Numbers
The first 1001 Fibonacci Numbers
The Very Large Graham Number
The Human Genome Project, Chromosome 01 of 24,
is a 278 MEG .txt File! It may take a while to load. . .
06 "QUICK MEDIA CONVERTER", Home Page & program.
A MSW program that I use a lot, to convert any format
video or audio file into any other.
There was no official 2010 disk. -------------------------------
The 2011 Faire DVD was a collection of UNUSUAL VIDEOS. ---------
01 The 3D World Nifty Fifty
Best computer animation.
02 Arcs n Sparks
Short circuits galore. Looks like a science fiction movie.
03 The Chihuahua Dance commercial from the movie "Bevery Hills
Chihuahua".
04 Three funny short videos.
"405 - The Movie" Made by two guys in their basements.
"Male Restroom Etiquette" Made with "The Sims" game editor.
"Toot Tone" A solution to an embarasing problem.
05 Gyro-Trac
Awesome machine. The soundtrack makes it.
06 Steampunk
"Professor Dante" Done recently in a Halloween haunted house.
"The Mysterious Explorations ..." Unusual style.
07 Three videos made by a video card benchmarker, to test your card.
"Aeronaut"
"Firefly"
"Proxima"
The 2012 Faire DVD
01 HUMOR:
These are fun videos and images. "01" and "02" are similar
videos, with "02" having a whimsical subtitle that is what
the lyrics almost sound like.
The other files are just plain silly.
02 MATH AND GEOMETRY:
Now we are into some interesting items that may be researched
on the T.I.
The "Fractal Zoom" is just for fun.
Remember the Fibonacci Sequence in Micropendium?
The narrator in the two "Spirit Science" videos talks fast,
and covers a lot of ground in these areas. Follow his links
for more, on different areas, in Metaphysics.
03 TEXAS INSTRUMENTS RELATED:
"My Little Compiler" is just what we have all waited for, it also
works with the F18 super video card.
"Tunnels of Doom and Reboot" is a tribute to Hank Mishkoff who
wrote the original TOD music, which is probably the most
recognized theme in the TI world. Howard Kistler revised the
game to a modern version, and composer Frank Scheffel did wonders
with the original tune.
Sorry about the poor downloads, try the original sites for the
correct view, but at least the music plays.
04 WORLD WAR II:
"Hemp for Victory" shows the importance of this strategic
material, at least during WWII. Sorry the sound does not
correctly sync with the video, this is a problem with the
original file.
"How to fly the B17" is a good tutorial for someone who is
already a pilot. If only TI tutorials were this explicit!
Anyone want to write a flight simulator based on this?
"Private Snafu" are "training videos" for soldiers. Take them
with a grain of salt, though. This is what the trainees were NOT
supposed to do. As usual with propaganda of this era, during
wartime, negative racial and ethnic stereotypes abound, please do
not be offended.
Original webpages for the videos from the Internet Archive have been
included. Sometimes the viewers comments are more entertaining than
the video.
The 2013 Faire CD -------------------------------------------------
The collection "315 TI-99 Games and Windows Emulator"
The very rare european "TI99advertizer" cartridge. Anyone have the
videos demonstrating this that USED to be on You Tube?
"TI Scramble" game
"Titanium" game
and the video, "Fibonacci's Fractals"
The 2014 Faire
Huge collection, over 237 meg, of TI software in "dsk" format, to
work on emulators, the CF7/NanoPEB, and, (with conversion to.hfe
format), the HxC floppy emulator.
Sorted into libraries and alphabetized.
E-mail me for requests for anyFaire disks.
