  1. The following is a list of the optical media given to attendees
  2. of the Chicato TI User's Group Faires:
  3.  
  4.  The 2006 CD featured much MATHEMATICAL IMAGERY, computer
  5. constructions of various formulae. Links to many websites. Jos Leys
  6. "Math Imagry" site is highly recommended.  It also included PC
  7. versions of the game of "Life", a new version which was written for
  8. the TI in 2006.
  9.  
  10.  The 2007 CD featured URBAN DESOLATION captured by photo historians,
  11. who believe that not all history is in history books, and when these
  12. structures are demolished, a page of history of the people who
  13. worked and lived in them is lost.
  14.   It also had "GENETIC MUSIC", notes coded from genetic sequences.
  15. Some musicianship was required to make it sound good.

  17.  The 2008 CD is about the SENSE OF WONDER AND IMAGINATION,
  18. featuring magazine and bookcovers of science fiction and popular
  19. "science" magazines from the 30's and 40's, some of which are more
  20. "science fiction" looking than the sci-fi ones themselves!

  22.  The 2009 disk is a DVD, because of the size of the video files on it:

  24. 01 DIMENSIONS MATH SERIES
  25.    3-dimension math imagery videos,in .mov "quicktime" format.
  26.    Finally, the fourth dimension and, the square root of negative 1
  27.    explained.  Home page included.  You can download same videos in
  28.    languages other than American English.

  30. 02 UNIVAC COMMERCIALS, in .mp4 format.
  31.    When Univac was king.
  32.  
  33. 03 "SITA SINGS THE BLUES", in .avi format. The world's greatest
  34.     breakup story.  "Betty Boop" for the new millenium.  How about
  35.     a T.I. arcade game based on "the battle of Lanka" sequence?

  37. 04 "EDISON'S 1910 FRANKENSTEIN", In .mp4 format, 99 years old.
  38.    (get it, 99?)  Lost for 60 years.  Yeah, we can laugh, but it 
  39.    must have really terrified folks in 1910.

  41. 05 SUPER NUMBERS SERIES:
  42.    The first 100,000 Prime Numbers
  43.    The first 1001 Fibonacci Numbers
  44.    The Very Large Graham Number
  45.    The Human Genome Project, Chromosome 01 of 24,
  46.     is a 278 MEG .txt File! It may take a while to load. . .

  48. 06 "QUICK MEDIA CONVERTER", Home Page & program.
  49.    A MSW program that I use a lot, to convert any format
  50.    video or audio file into any other.

  57.    Best computer animation.

  60.    Short circuits galore.  Looks like a science fiction movie.

  62. 03 The Chihuahua Dance commercial from the movie "Bevery Hills
  63.    Chihuahua".

  65. 04 Three funny short videos.
  66.    "405 - The Movie"  Made by two guys in their basements.
  67.    "Male Restroom Etiquette"  Made with "The Sims" game editor.
  68.    "Toot Tone"  A solution to an embarasing problem.

  70. 05 Gyro-Trac
  71.    Awesome machine.  The soundtrack makes it.

  73. 06 Steampunk
  74.    "Professor Dante"  Done recently in a Halloween haunted house.
  75.    "The Mysterious Explorations ..." Unusual style.

  77. 07 Three videos made by a video card benchmarker, to test your card.

  82. The 2012 Faire DVD
  83. 01 HUMOR:
  84.  These are fun videos and images. "01" and "02" are similar
  85.  videos, with "02" having a whimsical subtitle that is what
  86.  the lyrics almost sound like.
  87.  The other files are just plain  silly.
  88.  
  89. 02 MATH AND GEOMETRY:
  90.    Now we are into some interesting items that may be researched
  91.    on the T.I.
  92.    The "Fractal Zoom" is just for fun.
  93.    Remember the Fibonacci Sequence in Micropendium?
  94.    The narrator in the two "Spirit Science" videos talks fast, 
  95.    and covers a lot of ground in these areas.  Follow his links
  96.    for more, on different areas, in Metaphysics.

  98. 03 TEXAS INSTRUMENTS RELATED:
  99.    "My Little Compiler" is just what we have all waited for, it also
  100.    works with the F18 super video card.
  101.    "Tunnels of Doom and Reboot" is a tribute to Hank Mishkoff who
  102.    wrote the original TOD music, which is probably the most
  103.    recognized theme in the TI world.  Howard Kistler revised the
  104.    game to a modern version, and composer Frank Scheffel did wonders
  105.    with the original tune.
  106.    Sorry about the poor downloads, try the original sites for the
  107.    correct view, but at least the music plays.

  110. 04 WORLD WAR II:
  111.    "Hemp for Victory" shows the importance of this strategic
  112.     material, at least during WWII.  Sorry the sound does not
  113.     correctly sync with the video, this is a problem with the
  114.     original file.  
  115.    "How to fly the B17" is a good tutorial for someone who is
  116.     already a pilot.  If only TI tutorials were this explicit!
  117.     Anyone want to write a flight simulator based on this?
  118.    "Private Snafu" are "training videos" for soldiers.  Take them
  119.     with a grain of salt, though.  This is what the trainees were NOT
  120.     supposed to do.  As usual with propaganda of this era, during
  121.     wartime, negative racial and ethnic stereotypes abound, please do
  122.     not be offended.

  124. Original webpages for the videos from the Internet Archive have been
  125. included.  Sometimes the viewers comments are more entertaining than
  126. the video.

  140.  Huge collection, over 237 meg, of TI software in "dsk" format, to
  141.  work on emulators,  the CF7/NanoPEB, and, (with conversion to.hfe
  142.  format), the HxC floppy emulator.
